“Stealing moments to paint when inspiration strikes is when I feel the most authentic in my artistic expression”

“Over the years I’ve heard over and over again that an artist should have a recognizable style, an overarching theme, one thing that unites their art… I’ve always struggled to stick to one style, one medium, or to create a recognizable style of art. My style is varied. My moods are varied. My interests are varied, and so is my art!

I love simple minimalism and color palettes. I also love moody scenes with lots of marks and interesting texture. I love nature and soft watercolors. Creating interesting vignettes in my home and studio by gathering and grouping old, well loved books, and beautiful pottery, or wooden bowls next to bold black inky lines on textured paper. Having these things in my space makes me feel inspired, and excited and it satisfies my need for things to be inviting and tactile.

I believe that we are energized and inspired by what surrounds us, by what we wear, how we cook, the people we interact with. Art and our surroundings are where it all starts.

Our personal space.

Our personal environment.

When our space is filled with things that we love, colors that make us happy or remind us of an emotion or memory, we go about our day with more energy, excitement and thoughtfulness.

In a world filled with technology, for which we cannot live without, I believe we need to intentionally fill our personal environment with art and beauty.

I believe we should all live a life we design and live artfully!”

Artist Mission Statement

“I feel everyone should have access to original art that is unique, that tells a story and adds personality to your home, while fitting a variety of budgets. My goal is to inspire art lovers to become art collectors who are proud of their art purchase, as they support independent artists!

Purchasing and owning a unique piece of art that speaks to you, and that makes you feel happier in your personal space is gratifying, and feeds the soul. I hope that my collectors feel as much joy with the art that I create, as I feel while I am creating it!” Nicki Traikos

Nicki enjoys working with a large variety of mediums and substrates, while experimenting with imagery relating to people, nature, and abstract interpretations of her surroundings.

“My time spent wandering trails among the trees, while traveling to explore new streets and experiencing vast landscapes, informs the art I make. My love for naturalist decor and a growing fondness for vintage books and the stories they hold from the hands that held them inspires me to connect with my art practice more.  I am always searching for ways to use color and mood to express a moment, an emotion, a way to create a new memory.  “
